Whilst doing a bit of picture sourcing earlier today I happened on an old London Underground poster for Kew Gardens. As often happens when trawling the internet one often find ones self going off at wild tangents, this time at least it was an exciting discovery.
I’ve long been a fan of poster art in general, but was only really alerted to the art of London Transport posters when I visited The Poster King, an exhibition of work by Edward McKnight Kauffer at the Estorick last year.
Turns out the London Transport Museum has a fantastic digitised record of its posters to view online. It’s wonderful to see how differently artists and designers have interpreted the garden over the decades.
